Innovator in Customer Relationship Management Reveals New Usage Metrics around its CRM, Marketing and Service Offerings

San Francisco, CA – April 5, 2022– Today, Insightly, a unified customer relationship management (CRM) platform that elevates the customer experience, is reporting a rise in usage of its platform that helps businesses connect internal and external customer touchpoints for a more seamless overall engagement.

According to a future report from PwC, one in three customers will leave a brand they love after just one bad experience, while 92 percent will completely abandon a company after two or three negative interactions, so it’s essential that businesses focus on meaningful customer interactions that build lasting relationships.

“Our mission is to ensure all departments in an organization have access to the insights that will allow them to serve customers better,” said Anthony Smith, CEO of Insightly. “The growth in usage of Insightly’s unified platform where businesses use multiple Insightly apps underscores the evolving trend we have always believed to be critical – businesses need to integrate all customer touch points in order to deliver the experience customers have come to expect. The last two years shined a light on the importance of businesses engaging with customers in more personalized ways – and improved communication is helping companies optimize relationships and ultimately, develop more long-term, happy customers.”

Insightly’s products, which include Insightly CRM, Insightly Marketing, Insightly Service and a workflow automation application called AppConnect, were built from the ground up to create a streamlined customer experience. When organizations choose all three and work within a unified platform, they align their customer-facing teams around real-time customer data and eliminate the need for expensive system integrations.

“Insightly has helped to dramatically improve our workflow management because our internal team now has inside knowledge as to where each customer stands at all times,” said Cory Craig, Marketing Associate, MediConnect Insurance. “Having this insight means we can provide the best possible experience for each customer by anticipating needs and addressing issues out of the gate.”

The four Insightly platforms offer the following functions:

  • Insightly CRM, the company’s most popular offering and the award-winning platform on which all of Insightly’s offerings are built on, represents the foundation for customer experience. It tracks the most relevant lead information and automatically routes to the right person in real-time. Users can send email alerts, create or update records, generate tasks for others when opportunities are won, and even execute custom business logic to sync external systems from SAP, Oracle, and others.
  • Insightly Marketing is the second most used app and has seen an explosion in usage, with an increase of nearly 70 percent year-over-year. Insightly Marketing allows customer data to flow securely between marketing, sales and post-sale delivery teams, which allows marketers in businesses of all sizes to easily and affordably access powerful enterprise-grade marketing capabilities directly on Insightly’s Unified CRM Platform. Features include: Customizable prospect grading and scoring, an intuitive journey builder, beautifully formatted automated emails, and more.
  • Insightly Service, which launched in 2021, grew in customer adoption by 64 percent from Q2-Q4 of 2021. Insightly Service is a customer service and support ticketing product designed to work seamlessly across the business applications that companies are already using. With this application, critical data is shared across departments and in real-time, so that all customer-facing teams are aligned and empowered to have more relevant conversations that drive customer satisfaction and success. The release of Insightly Service is timely. According to Market Research Future, the Help Desk Automation Market is expected to reach USD 11 billion in 2023 and is experiencing a CAGR of 33% from 2017 to 2023.
  • AppConnect is Insightly’s workflow automation application that allows users to easily integrate finance, IT, marketing, HR, and other business critical apps with the Insightly platform. AppConnect delivers over 500 pre-built connectors to apps businesses most frequently use, including Google Workspace, Quickbooks, SAP, PayPal, Shopify, Slack, Dropbox, and many others. By allowing companies to integrate different systems, Insightly automates the transfer of data and eliminates the need to manually enter data or write complex code.

December 15, 2021 — San Francisco, CA — Today, Insightly, the innovator in customer relationship management (CRM), is unveiling how businesses can keep pace with the evolving customer journey in 2022. Insightly’s recent study asking over 450 business leaders to assess the top pain points for their sales and marketing operations showed that businesses are struggling to effectively manage the customer journey. These leaders identified 3 key challenges: lack of customer data transparency, difficulty in building and maintaining integrations, and their struggle with a rapidly-evolving toolset. A separate Insightly survey of 500 business decision makers found that more than 4 in 10 say sales and marketing teams only connect on occasion/when necessary and nearly one in 10 say they don’t connect at all.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way customers interact with companies, and as a result, the customer journey, which was undergoing a pre-pandemic transformation, is now evolving at a much faster rate,” said Anthony Smith, CEO of Insightly. “Businesses that want to build long-standing relationships with customers must ensure each touchpoint is fully integrated so that conversations are fruitful and connections are made. With Insightly’s unified approach, sales, marketing, project management and customer service are aligned to deliver a complete view of interactions across the entire buying experience to propel sales. In 2022, the customer journey revolution will take center stage for every department and every business.

To help companies address the changing customer landscape and other challenges, Insightly’s leadership team compiled its top tips to help businesses succeed in the New Year:

  1. According to David Osborne, Chief Sales Officer: Sales is a team sport and all aspects of the process – from marketing to sales, to post-sale – need to be unified in order to deliver a white glove customer experience. In 2022, businesses will need to ensure the commitment of all departments to deliver on its promises to the customer and provide personalized, relevant content.
  2. According to Chip House, Chief Marketing Officer: The relationship between the brand and customer, both B2B and B2C, has forever changed and as a result, the way businesses interact with them must follow suit. Customers want to know the personality behind the brand and forge a relationship. They want interactions to feel human, not transactional. In 2022, businesses should focus on thoughtful, authentic content and the integration of sales and marketing should be seamless at every touchpoint to ensure a consistent, holistic experience for the customer.
  3. According to Karl Laughton, President and Chief Operating Officer: With many companies forgoing office space and opting to go remote in 2022, a focus on team alignment will be critical. Businesses must ensure they are well poised to accommodate challenges that will undoubtedly arise in remote settings. Beyond dispersed teams and disparate business applications, customer expectations are now higher than they ever have been before. It’s easier for customers to share feedback about their experiences and discover alternative products and services if expectations are not met. Bottom line: a world-class customer experience is not possible unless every touch point and team in the customer journey is aligned.
  4. According to Elena Doudoukalova, SVP of People Operations: The Great Resignation is the number one issue for nearly every employer right now and brands must start thinking outside the box to differentiate themselves in this new norm of “hybrid” and “work from home” to keep and attract the best talent. In 2022, businesses should focus on new methods of employee morale so that everyone feels supported from an emotional standpoint – constant two-way communication and feedback will be at the core of it all.

This year, Insightly launched several major updates to its platform including Insightly Service, a customer service and support ticketing product that incorporates service with CRM, marketing and more and AppConnect, a powerful workflow automation application that allows users to easily integrate finance, IT, marketing, HR, and other business critical apps with the Insightly platform. With Insightly, companies have a more complete view of customer interactions across the entire buying experience to optimize touchpoints and drive revenue – for more information, visit http://www.insightly.com.

San Francisco, CA-SEPTEMBER 21, 2021Today, Insightly, the leader in customer relationship management (CRM) innovation, is announcing the availability of Insightly Service, the newest addition to the Insightly unified suite of customer relationship management applications. Built on Insightly’s platform, Insightly Service is a customer service and support ticketing product designed to work seamlessly across the business applications that companies are already using. With Insightly Service, critical data is shared across departments and in real-time, so that all customer-facing teams are aligned and empowered to have more relevant conversations that drive customer satisfaction and success.

“The past 18 months have highlighted the importance of delivering superior customer service and that starts with gaining a clear and real-time picture of the complete customer journey, including staying ahead of potential concerns,” said Anthony Smith, CEO of Insightly. “Businesses have the opportunity to differentiate themselves by ensuring they have insights that help them demonstrate knowledge and empathy in every single customer interaction. Our focus is on bringing together all of these touchpoints – from customer service to marketing, CRM and project management so that teams have a unified view of the customer experience to proactively guide customer success, and strengthen long-term relationships.”

In a new study, commissioned by Insightly and conducted by Zogby Analytics, 86 percent of businesses believe they meet or exceed customer expectations – while only six percent of consumers feel a company’s customer support team exceeds their expectations. The Insightly survey, which polled 300 business decision makers and 1,000 consumers, showcases the disparity between how well businesses think they’re doing with customers, and how customers actually feel about their experiences with companies. Customers surveyed are most frustrated when they feel they are being ignored by a business – and nearly one in three say they switch providers if they are unhappy. On the flipside, nearly all business decision makers polled believe they’re aware of their customers’ level of happiness with them – including 73 percent who report being very aware.

Insightly Service software helps businesses resolve customer issues by delivering valuable customer insights across departments. Building on Insightly’s existing CRM and Marketing products, Insightly Service doesn’t require complicated integrations to maximize the power of the unified approach. Backed by artificial Intelligence algorithms, Insightly Service analyzes every customer interaction in real-time (including issues, comments, posts, reviews, votes and feedback) to generate a unique customer satisfaction score for every customer. As a result, Insightly Service users know when they’re exceeding expectations (and when they’re not) – and can proactively focus on ways to improve satisfaction and customer relationships.

The Insightly study shows 44 percent of businesses surveyed said they’d rather enter data in a spreadsheet than deal with a call from an angry customer, while three in 10 said they would do almost anything other than take an angry call. Meanwhile, one-third of consumers would prefer to wait in line at the DMV than resolve an issue with a business, while 27 percent would rather do a tell-all for their family and the world to see than try to resolve an issue with a company. By driving speed and alignment of customer interactions, Insightly Service is improving customer experiences to ultimately, improve business growth.

“Customer satisfaction and happiness is of the utmost importance to us – and while managing issues is stressful for customers, it also puts a strain on internal teams, so being able to keep a pulse on their journey is critical,” said Amy Anderson, co-founder of Wild Coffee Marketing, provider of results-driven marketing for growing businesses. “Insightly has become the backbone of our clients’ customer programs because of its ability to bring together different customer touchpoints into one platform, while also ensuring our departments are viewing the same information. The integration of Insightly Service is another layer of improved insights that will help our clients deliver a better experience for their customers.”

Insightly Service can be bundled with the entire Insightly suite of customer relationship management applications and is also available for purchase as a standalone customer service and support product. To learn more, visit https://www.insightly.com.

About the Survey

Zogby Analytics was commissioned by Insightly to conduct an online survey of 1,009 consumers and 303 business decision makers in the US. Based on a confidence interval of 95%, the margin of error for 1,009 and 303 is +/- 3.1 and +/- 5.6 percentage points, respectively. This means that all other things being equal, if the identical survey were repeated, its confidence intervals would contain the true value of parameters 95 times out of 100.

As businesses continue to innovate processes to more effectively manage operations in the time of COVID-19, connecting data is critical for maximizing efficiencies and growing business.

“We recognize the power data and business intelligence delivers for businesses today. But to harness that power, businesses need simple, reliable, and scalable solutions that allow them to regularly connect data, people, and processes between different parts of business,” said Anthony Smith, founder and CEO of Insightly. “With Insightly AppConnect businesses can design workflows and automate complex processes across systems in an intuitive drag-and-drop interface. It is incredibly powerful because it doesn’t require coding and technical skills, and unlocks opportunities for every business–no matter their size or tech and IT resources–to solve operational issues and optimize business for growth.”

Insightly customers have already automated over one million workflows. AppConnect has enhanced our internal user experience, reduced project timelines, and created intuitive, scalable processes throughout our organization, while supporting significant growth in our ability to complete solar installations faster than ever before.”

For the first time, professionals with no coding skills or expensive data tools can build workflow automations using a simple visual interface that displays automations as flow diagrams and allows users to easily follow all the steps in an integration, maintaining clarity and control throughout the process.

San Francisco, CA–November 10, 2020–Today, Insightly, the leader in customer relationship management (CRM) innovation, is unveiling new features of Insightly Marketing, its revolutionary approach to automating the marketing function and deploying dynamic customer journeys. Built on the foundation of Insightly’s trusted CRM platform, Insightly Marketing now makes it much simpler for businesses of all sizes to execute compelling, fully integrated and measurable marketing campaigns that drive growth. Marketing automation, which was once a complicated web of activities, data flows and technologies can now be managed simply, with high impact, and in complete alignment with sales and delivery teams.

“Insightly’s mission is to make the complex simple, so that CRM technology that was once outside the consideration of most businesses, is now within reach, easy-to-use and delivers measurable business impact,” said Anthony Smith, CEO Insightly. “We applied these same fundamental guiding principles in building Insightly Marketing. The more advanced features we add, the more intuitive our marketing automation application becomes.”

Marketing has arguably never been more important for today’s businesses. In fact, a recent survey of Insightly customers found that two-thirds say marketing has become more important to their business since March 2020 – with one in four saying they couldn’t run their business without it.

Insightly Marketing is built on the same platform as Insightly’s industry-leading CRM, allowing customer data to flow freely and securely between marketing, sales and post-sale delivery teams. With the addition of these new features, marketers in businesses of all sizes can now easily and affordably access powerful enterprise-grade marketing capabilities directly on Insightly’s Unified CRM Platform. The new features include:

  • AI-Driven Prospect Grading and Scoring–Pass only the most qualified prospects to sales by automatically determining how demographically close they are to having an ideal customer profile (ICP) and calculate how likely they are to potentially become a paying customer.
  • Advanced List Segmentation–Increase campaign performance by automatically creating highly targeted lists based on any combination of marketing activities, including interaction with online marketing assets such as webinar attendance, ebook downloads, website visits, form fills, or custom events.
  • Landing Pages–Easy-to-use drag and drop design editor, embedded form builder and engagement analytics by source allow marketers to build meaningful campaigns to capture demand at scale.
  • A/B and Multivariate Testing–Quickly test which email creative and messaging performs the best using statistically relevant sample sizes and automatically deploy the winners to the broader market segment for highest campaign ROI.
  • Nextgen Marketing Analytics–Build a deep understanding of prospects’ behaviors, preferences and needs by tracking and logging their every interaction along the customer journey, such as YouTube video views, form-fill interactions, and analyzing custom event completions.

“Marketing automation is a simple concept at a high-level, but the details can get complicated very quickly – plus, when you begin looking at all the technology and expertise you need to get up and running, it can also be expensive,” said Keith Gardner, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Hurst Review Services. “With Insightly Marketing, we found the best solution for our needs, at a much lower price point. And because it is built on the same platform as Insightly CRM, it was seamless to roll it out.”

“Given the impact of recent world events, businesses need to fundamentally rethink how they can more tightly align marketing, sales and post-sale delivery teams around the needs of their customers, while at the same time remain vigilant about managing cost structures and operational efficiencies,” added Smith.

San Francisco, CAJuly 22, 2020–In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, more people are working remotely and leveraging their mobile device for business – in fact, a new Insightly poll shows nearly two-thirds (60 percent) of those surveyed say they use their mobile device for business and customer management every day. That is why today, Insightly, innovator of scalable CRM for companies of all sizes, is launching the next-generation of its mobile app that combines the functionality of its award-winning Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform with fully integrated Project Management into one easy-to-use mobile interface.

“Companies today are forced to be mobile and do business outside of the office, so a robust mobile application that puts customer information at the core is critical,” said Anthony Smith, CEO of Insightly. “Our approach is particularly unique because the protection of customer data is the foundation of our mobile app, just as it is for our platform. By delivering highly secure mobile access that is also fast and equipped to manage large amounts of data, the Insightly Mobile App puts the management of the customer journey at your fingertips.”

The new app has been completely rearchitected from the ground-up to deliver the most technically advanced mobile CRM application on the market.

Key features include:

  1. Enhanced Security: With its advanced permissions functionality, Insightly’s Mobile App offers businesses the flexibility to capture different roles within CRM and the added security that each role only sees the customers data that is relevant to them.
  2. Increased Speed: App response speed and the ability to scale to CRM data sets in the millions of records with no synchronization required means customers on the road can get to their critical data much faster.
  3. Beautiful Dashboards: Users can now access all the enterprise-grade dashboards available in Insightly CRM directly on their mobile devices with the full fidelity of the desktop experience.
  4. Better Cohesiveness: Mirroring a concept pioneered by Apple Inc., Insightly now ensures that all views and dashboards  created for the web automatically carry across into the new mobile app.  This results in an ultra-rich user experience on all devices all the time.

“With so many of our teams now working remotely, it is critical that everyone using the CRM gets the same functionality and user experience that they are used to, when they were in the office,” said Bill Varga, Business Improvement, Kings Group. “With the new Insightly Mobile App, we can access all the customer information we need from anywhere and get all the power we’d expect at lightning speeds – including our customized dashboards.”

The Insightly Mobile App is available immediately for iOS on the Apps Store and for Android on Google Play.

San Francisco, CA – September 10, 2019 – Today, Insightly, innovator of scalable CRM for companies of all sizes, is unveiling the launch of Insightly Marketing, a revolutionary approach that integrates marketing, sales and project management into a single platform to support dynamic customer journeys. In addition to the new offering, Insightly is revealing new insights from a survey of over 440 businesses about trends and challenges in marketing. Among the findings, the Insightly Marketing Study finds that the majority of businesses (54 percent) say marketing is very important to their business growth, with nearly one in five reporting they couldn’t run their business without it. That said, 11 percent do not integrate marketing and sales initiatives, while 42 percent only do it on occasion.

“Businesses today must address the complete customer and that means understanding the intricacies and value of each touchpoint,” said Anthony Smith, CEO of Insightly. “By integrating marketing with project management and sales into a single platform, Insightly is revolutionizing the future of customer engagements by helping businesses deliver the right marketing initiatives with the right ROI.”

As a powerful, yet easy-to-use marketing engine, Insightly Marketing is built on the same platform as Insightly’s renowned Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution for a seamless and streamlined customer experience. According to the Insightly study, the majority of businesses (56 percent) are still using Excel to manage marketing, with 17 percent saying they don’t use any technology – more than one-third don’t consistently measure marketing’s contribution to their business. With Insightly’s unified platform, businesses can finally align their sales and marketing activities around a single source of truth on customer data, enjoy consistent user interface, and eliminate the need for expensive system integrations and user training.

The ABCs of the new offering include:

    • Advanced Analytics: Ability to easily analyze, visualize, and share customer engagement metrics – open rates, bounce rates, click-through rates, and more – to discover what’s working well and double-down on winning campaigns.
    • Better Builds: Templates for customizable emails and newsletters to deliver engaging experiences to your customers, increase open rates, and drive more conversions.
    • Customer Journeys: Easily chart the course of discovery for each customer segment with an intuitive and visual journey builder, and quickly learn about their behaviors and preferences.
    • Data Freedom: With all customer information located in one unified platform, there is no need to manage multiple sources of data.  Customer data flows freely throughout, so that all marketing, sales and service teams have the exact same view of the customer.

The survey shows that while marketing is critical to a business’ success, companies are also performing a wide range of activities as part of its marketing strategy – from PR to website management to email marketing. At the same time, 52 percent still say their marketing budget is less than 10 percent of the company’s annual revenue and a majority of businesses report having less than five people in marketing. As a result, businesses are largely under-resourced with fewer people and dollars invested in this key part of their business operations.

“Insightly was the right choice for us because we can meet both our marketing automation and CRM needs with one vendor,’’ said Roby Watters, Sales and Marketing at IMS. “With the confidence of having all our data in one place, we can focus on delivering a much better experience to our customers every time we interact with them.”

“Having spent more than 20 years of my career in marketing, I have experienced the challenges and critical importance of aligning marketing with sales in order to validate its effectiveness,” added Tony Kavanagh, CMO of Insightly. “By driving a better connection to the ROI of marketing programs, we are ensuring marketing teams (no matter how lean) are maximizing the impact of their efforts and ultimately, boosting the bottom line for the business.”

San Francisco, CA—June 18, 2019—Studies show that businesses using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution see a 30 percent increase in sales – so it’s no surprise that 91 percent of North American firms with more than 10 employees are leveraging CRM today. Insightly, innovator of scalable CRM for companies of all sizes, is experiencing this market momentum first-hand – the company is reporting a 113 percent increase in mid-sized customers (businesses with 100-500 employees) year over year, along with a 30 percent increase in revenue.

“Insightly is focused on strategic growth that reinforces our commitment to scaling with our customers by supporting business as they move up-market,” said Anthony Smith, CEO of Insightly. “Today’s companies must evolve with their customers to ensure they’re meeting changing expectations by delivering a relationship-focused experience. Those that want to remain competitive must gain better insight into the complete customer.”

“Vendors that consistently receive favorable ratings from MSEs engage regularly, regardless of the level of spend. A key to maintaining a solid relationship is providing dedicated and consistent account management that supports a sense of shared value with the customer,”  Gartner, James Browning, Mike Cisek and Mark Fabbi “What Midsize Enterprises Want From Their IT Vendors”, 25 May 2018

To help mid-sized businesses make the most of customer relationships, Insightly is revealing its top five tips for successfully managing and maintaining the customer experience:

    1. Develop a High-Def Data Profile: Build a complete picture of your customers to reach them with the right message at the right time and solve their actual needs.
    2. Forget the Funnel: Leave the “marketing funnel” behind. The funnel was created to organize sales and marketing teams and doesn’t reflect or predict buyer behavior. Adopt a “customer journey” approach to give you more flexibility and better understanding of your customers’ behavior, including triggers for action. It also acknowledges the customer as a decision-maker and in today’s subscription economy, customers are seeking partners and not just products.
    3. Get Aligned: Ensure your sales and marketing teams are collaborating at the planning and operational levels. To your customers, you’re one company and one brand. They don’t care where and how you initiate outreach and who’s responsible for it on the inside, they do care about a consistent message and brand experience from the first touch through their entire journey with you.
    4. Continue the Courtship: If you want to build long-lasting customer relationships, understand that your first conversation is only the beginning. Treat every interaction, across every department, with the same attention as you do when you’re trying to win them over for the very first time. Leverage data, team alignment and a unified CRM platform to strengthen customer relationships and ultimately, reach your business goals.
    5. Make it Personal: Over the years, the concept of “customer relationships” has become a clinical definition for sales and marketing teams, who are expected to hit numbers and often talk about customers in terms of clicks, conversions, MQLs/SQLs, and closed-won opportunities. “Inbound marketing” created even more distance and detachment between businesses and their customers, so as outbound marketing reclaims center stage, focus on creating  a more personal experience for future and existing customers. Whether you’re B2C or B2B, customers are people, so treat them as such by bringing meaning to every interaction, establishing trust, and building long-lasting customer relationships.

“Insightly’s best selling point is its flexibility and its ability to scale with us to meet our evolving needs,” said Nell Jungels, Director of IT, Bright Planet Solar, a company that delivers the highest quality, American made PV systems on the market with a team of 200 employees. “Features such as custom fields, workflow automation, email templates, record linking, and advanced reporting have helped us grow, and they’ll continue to do so in the future.”
